Chiropractic
The primary goal of chiropractic care is directed towards maintaining, improving, restoring or enhancing the health of the patient through the use of chiropractic adjustments and related therapies. Treatment is often directed to areas of soft tissue injury or decreased movement in the joints of the body, particularly the spine, which can create a reaction in surrounding tissues (ligaments, muscles, and nerves) resulting in pain, dysfunction and muscular spasm.
Chiropractors are also trained to utilize other therapies, including Cold Laser Therapy (physical therapy) and Kinesio Taping (sports taping). Additionally, Chiropractors encourage health promotion through exercise, dietary and nutritional counselling, and lifestyle consulting. Chiropractors assess and diagnose disorders and dysfunctions of the neuro-musculoskeletal system related to the spine and extremities and provide treatment, rehabilitation and, where possible, prevention of those disorders. This holistic approach is done without the use of drugs or surgery.

Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is the hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body to gain a therapeutic response. Soft tissue includes muscles, skin, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, membranes and joints.
Therapeutic massage directly affects the muscular, circulatory and nervous systems. Due to injuries, or the stress of daily life, all tissues in the body lose their efficiency in repairing and restoring themselves to a healthy and stress free condition. Massage techniques remove constriction in the tissues, thus increasing the circulation of blood and lymph. This results in the proper flow of metabolic waste out of the tissues and increases the supply of oxygen and nutrients into the cells. This in turn helps to eliminate unwanted pain.

Acupuncture
Originating in China over 3,000 years ago, Acupuncture is the oldest continuously practiced medical system in the world. It is used by one-third of the world as a primary health care system and has been endorsed by the World Health Organization of the United Nation.
This vital energy, Qi (pronounced chee) is what helps to keep us alive and functioning properly. It moves through the body in channels in ways similar to streams, rivers and oceans. When the Qi in the body is full and flowing smoothly, we experience well-being in body, mind and spirit; health is promoted. When the Qi becomes depleted or blocked, imbalances occur which eventually may result in illness. Symptoms are the body’s distress signals warning us that there is a problem that needs attention.
If the real problem is not addressed, sooner or later something more serious is likely to occur. Traditional Acupuncture treats the deeper underlying cause in addition to alleviating the symptom.
The Acupuncturists at StudioHealth -ChiroWorks- are highly trained and intuitive therapists who are engaged in using their knowledge to help you to feel your best.
